神保守祂的真理
若真理在神眼中不是如此宝贵，祂就不会容许用祂百姓的血来换取真理；更重要的是，祂绝不会用自己独生爱子的血来购买。
神从未任凭真理失落。在海难中，人们绝不会去抢救木材或毫无价值的杂物，只会拼死保住对他们而言最宝贵的东西。在列国和教会所经历的一切剧烈动荡中，神始终保守着祂的真理。成千上万的圣徒生命虽被夺去，但魔鬼对真理的仇恨，仍然远胜于对所有圣徒的仇恨。然而，真理存留至今！
若真理在神眼中不是如此宝贵，祂就不会容许用祂百姓的血来换取真理；更重要的是，祂绝不会用自己独生爱子的血来购买。在那大日，当地上的形质都要被烈火销化时，神的真理连一丝焦痕都不会产生：“惟有主的道是永存的”（彼前1:25）。
神严厉对待真理的仇敌。凡在真理上加添或删减的，必受可怕的咒诅。加添的人，是把圣经中所写的一切灾祸招致到自己身上；删减的人，则是将自己的名从生命册和圣城中删去。当我们深思真理的本质时，就不难明白为何神如此看重真理——真理乃是神从亘古到永远之意念与旨意的实质。真理也是神对自己本性最完美的启示，好叫我们能借此认识祂、爱祂。
昔日的君王常借着使者，将自己的画像送给他们想要赢得并迎娶的女子。神拥有如此无限的完美，除了祂自己的手，没有任何一双手能将祂的生命真实地描绘出来；而这正是祂在祂的话语中所成就的——正因如此，历世历代的圣徒都满心欢喜地将自己的心献给了祂。
我们接受或拒绝真理，就是在接受或藐视神。尽管世人无法将神从祂的宝座上拉下来，也不能剥夺祂的神性，但当他们攻击真理时，他们的险恶用心已昭然若揭——他们无异于是在对神进行象征性的处决。然而，神却从不停止对我们的呼唤，祂要我们这些爱祂的人，紧紧依附于祂的真理。

GOD PRESERVES HIS TRUTH
If truth were not so precious to God he would not allow it to be purchased with the blood of His people—or most important, with the blood of His Son.
God has never let truth get lost. In shipwrecks men do not try to save lumber and trivia of little worth but only what is most precious to them. In all the great revolutions of kingdoms and churches, God has preserved His truth. Thousands of saints’ lives have been taken away, but the devil despises truth more than all the saints. And this is what still lives!
If truth were not so precious to God he would not allow it to be purchased with the blood of His people—or most important, with the blood of His Son. In that great day when the earth’s elements will melt in fire, God’s truth will not even be singed: “The word of the Lord endureth forever” (1 Peter 1:25).
God is severe to the enemies of truth. A dreadful curse is pronounced upon anyone who adds to or takes away from truth. One pulls down all the plagues written in the Bible; and the other takes away his part out of the book of life and out of the holy city. It is no wonder that God values truth so highly when we consider what it is—truth is the substance of His thoughts and counsels from everlasting to everlasting. It is the fullest representation that God Himself could give of His own being so we might know and love Him.
Princes used to send their pictures by ambassadors to those they hoped to win and marry. God is such infinite perfection that no hand can draw Him to life but His own; and this is exactly what He has done in His Word—and because of this, saints of every century have joyfully given their hearts to Him.
As we accept or reject truth we accept or despise God. Although men cannot pull God from His throne and ungod Him, they come as close as possible when they attack the truth—they execute God in effigy. Yet God never stops wanting those of us who love Him to cleave to His truth.
