你的情感在哪里？
“并且你们在大难之中，蒙了圣灵所赐的喜乐，领受真道，就效法我们，也效法了主。”（帖前1:6）
“悟性”宛如一面聚光镜，它越是稳固不摇，真理之光就越能透过它聚焦在我们的情感上，从而迅速将情感点燃。往以马忤斯路上的门徒曾感叹：“在路上，祂和我们说话，给我们讲解圣经的时候，我们的心岂不是火热的吗？”（路24:32）毫无疑问，他们以前也曾听过基督讲论这些事，但他们从未像那一次，当基督同时开启他们的悟性与圣经时，得到如此完全的饱足。
即使太阳没有投射出肉眼可见的光束，它依然能把热能与温暖传递给大地。但“公义的日头”惟独在祂的光照耀、将真理播撒进我们的悟性中时，才赐下祂那属灵的感化力。当基督徒栖身于这翅膀的荫下时，一种苏醒灵魂的热力便在心底被点燃。圣灵不仅是保惠师，祂也是使人信服真理的灵：祂正是借着教导我们，来安慰我们。
眼睛引导脚步--人若看不见自己要往哪里去，就不能安全地行走；当脚下的地在震动时，人也无法稳步行走。我们悟性中所持守的原则，正是我们行为步履所踏的根基；如果这些原则动摇了，我们的行动也必摇摆不定。颤抖的手画不出笔直的线，同样，游移不定的判断力也行不出蒙神悦纳的行为。因此，使徒保罗将“坚固、不可摇动”与“常常竭力多作主工”紧密相连（林前15:58）。
福音临到帖撒罗尼迦人，伴随着“充足的信心”——也就是说，他们清楚看见了福音真理的明证（帖前1:5）。请注意这福音是如何在他们的日常生活中显出大能的：“并且你们在大难之中，蒙了圣灵所赐的喜乐，领受真道就效法我们，也效法了主。”（帖前1:6）他们确信这教义是从神而来的，正是这种确信，不仅带他们经过患难，更领他们进入了喜乐。

WHERE ARE YOUR AFFECTIONS?
“Ye become followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost” (1 Thessalonians 1:6).
The more steady the glass of understanding is, where the light of truth is beamed upon our affections, the sooner they are set on fire: “Did not our heart burn within us, while he opened to us the Scriptures?” the disciples asked on the Emmaus Road (Luke 24:32). No doubt they had already heard Christ preach what He was saying now, but they had never been so completely satisfied as when He opened their understanding and Scriptures together.
The sun sends influence and warmth into the earth even when the light does not shed visible beams upon it. But the Sun of righteousness gives His influence only where His light comes to spread truth into our understanding. And as a Christian abides under these wings, a kind of heart-quickening heat is kindled in his heart. While the Holy Spirit is a comforter, He is also a convincer: He comforts us by teaching us.
The eye directs the foot—a man cannot walk safely unless he can see where he is going. Nor can he walk when the earth quakes under his feet. The principles we have in our understanding are the ground our behavior moves upon; if they shift, our actions will stagger too. It is as impossible for a shaking hand to write a straight line as it is for a faltering judgment to exhibit acceptable behavior. The apostle links steadfastness and unmovableness with “abounding in the work of the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58).
The Gospel came to the Thessalonians “in much assurance” —that is, in evidence of its truth (1 Thessalonians 1:5). And notice how it prevailed in their everyday lives: “Ye become followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost” (v. 6). They were assured that this doctrine was from God and that assurance carried them through times of affliction as well as rejoicing.
