我们得罪的是谁？
“我得罪了祢，唯独得罪祢；我行了祢眼中看为恶的事。”（诗篇51:4）
当一个人在圣灵光照下，因着罪而自责、明白自己是被定罪的，这时第三步就是：他开始明白，并且承认，这一切首先意味着自己是得罪了神、一切是在神面前做下的。正如大卫所说：“我得罪了祢，唯独得罪祢；我行了祢眼中看为恶的事。”
“当然啦，”有人会说，“这不对吧？大卫不是也得罪了拔示巴、有罪于拔示巴，有罪于乌利亚、有罪于那些在战场上死去的人、有罪于以色列和自己的百姓吗？他怎么能说‘唯独得罪祢’呢？”然而，大卫说得完全正确！他并不是否认自己也伤害了别人、亏欠了别人；他是在更深一层的意义上看见：罪不只是一个“错误对待他人”的行为，更不是一件可以被当成是孤立事件的小事。罪当然会牵连他人、伤害群体，但它的“本质”是——他有罪于神，得罪了神。
这正是“懊悔”和“悔改”的根本区别。一个人可能会懊悔：他意识到自己做错了、带来后果、名声受损、关系破裂、良心不安；但除非他进一步认识到：这件事首先是对神的冒犯，是违背了神的圣洁与律法，是在神面前行了恶。否则，他就还没有真正悔改。圣经中所强调的悔改，不只是情绪上的自责，而是心转向神：承认罪是得罪神，因此恨恶罪，转离罪，归向神，依靠基督里的赦免与更新。
那为什么他会有这样的觉醒呢？让我这样解释：所谓“罪”，就是违背神所造的秩序，也就是违背神对人本来的旨意与设计。先用比较直观的话说：当人犯罪时，他不仅是“做了不该做的事”；他是在背离、亏损甚至是羞辱了“人被造的目的”，把人性拉低了。因此，他不仅是得罪“人类共同的良善”，也就因此得罪了那位创造人的神。 神造人原本是好的，并且按着祂的心意设定了人应当如何活——在祂面前敬虔、公义、圣洁，反映出祂的荣耀。神也把人放在应当顺服祂的地位，赐下祂的律法作为生命的准则。当人犯罪时，就是在拆毁神所设立的秩序，扭曲神的创造，违背神圣洁的律法；因此，大卫说：“我得罪了祢，唯独得罪祢。”意思是：我违背了神对人的旨意；我正在扭曲、败坏神的创造；我每一次犯罪，都是在触犯神的圣律，也是在轻看神的荣耀。

WHO DO WE SIN AGAINST?
Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight. (PSALM 51:4)
Step number three when a man comes under conviction is that he realizes and confesses that all this is done against God and before God. “Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight.”
“Surely,” says someone, “that must be wrong. David ought to have said, ‘Against Bathsheba, against Uriah, against men who were killed in that battle, against Israel and my people have I sinned.’ But he says, ‘Against thee, thee only . . .’” Ah, David is quite right! He does not deny that he has sinned against the others, but here he is going a step further. He realizes that his actions are not simply actions in and of themselves. He sees that they not only affect and involve other people, but their real essence is that he has sinned against God.
Now that is the essential difference between remorse and repentance. A man who suffers remorse is one who realizes he has done wrong, but he has not repented until he realizes that he has sinned against God.
Why should he feel that? Let me try to answer the question in the following manner. Sin, you see, means a violation of what God has made and of what God intended man to be. Let me put it, in a preliminary fashion, in this form: When a man sins, he is not only doing certain things himself that he should not do; he is sinning against human nature, he is letting it down. He is sinning, therefore, against humanity, and because of that he is sinning against God who made man. God made man perfect, and God intended man to live that perfect life. He gave him the possibility of doing so, and when a man sins he lets God down. “Against thee, thee only, have I sinned.” I have violated what God intended man to be. I am twisting and perverting God’s creation. Every time I sin, I violate God’s holy law.
